Alright me and a buddy worked on my car for looongg tonight..
its a 88 4door ..
we lowered 3 out of 4 corners...
the 4th one .. the bolts under neath just kept turning and turning to come off.. but wouldnt grab on anything.. making it so we couldnt get it GOING.. ya know?..
ok we got stuck on the bolt that the strut is attached to in the driver side rear....
there are 3 bolts total holding the strut in place... 2 in the trunk and 1 big mofo in the bottom, control arm or whatever......
we got the nut off of the inside end, but the screw is still in there and just wont come out....... it spins, and we have tried tapping it through the other side.. and nothing....
weve used impact, breaker bar, everything... and it spins and wont come OUT..
it makes no sense and its just frusterating.
it was really weird.
anyone know what I am talking about?? and any help??
THANKS!!

Me and a buddy did the coils on my car today...
now, when we did the rear (its a 88 civic 4 door)..
the middle of the shock has that protector on it to block the dirt/crap from going onto the bar that compresses...
we took off the protector because the coil wouldnt go down without it gone...
now from what I REMEMBER the shocks should still be good to go without that protector thingy .. right?
if not, we gotta jack it up and some how make a protector for them ....
any ideas???
right now they look like this
without the protector u can SEE the metal behind the coil

only thing i can think of is to heat it up, spray it with wd-40 and try to drive the fucker out with a hammer, it should just slide out.
we had this problem when we lowered my buddys 626, the one bottom bolt for the front wouldnt come out, so we tried taking the shock out anyways and when we moved it it broke loose and were able to tap it out

put the nut on the end of the bolt before yuu wack it too hard so you don't screw up the threads, and when it breaks loose you can take the nut off and you'll prob. be able to pull it the rest of the way out

happened on mine too, you can actually change the spring with that bolt still attached, the top should be able to lean out

this happend to me on my 89 civic. Get a fork crow bar and put it on the screw get a hammer and hit the crow bar to your right. The screw should come out after messing with it for a while. It was a bastard to get out but i managed to get it out and not mess any threads up.

try jacking up the LCA a little bit to take some pressure off the bolt and then try to slide it out, thats what i had to do with mine and it came right out.

he he - mine was rusted - I ended up having to cut the forks off the strut. My bolt actually rusted to the metal bushing in the LCA.
