This is what I'm trying to do.i don't have a welder.(making 1/2 door for jeep)I was hoping to cut out the section and then fiberglass to fill in the spot between the doors. Please point me in the wright direction, any suggestions would help. Thanks

I think I know what you want to do, but Im not sure.

By cutting the door like that you are going to loose a lot of structural integrity in the door and around that area. Being that its a unibody thats going to make a a good point for weakness. I think you are going to need to weld in some sort of reinforcements, or at least bolt on.

Thats what the bar across the middle is for,you can see it in the pic I photoshoped.

I noticed the bar. Are you going to have that welded in? If that support brace is there then you should be on your way and can do pretty much whatever.

Its pretty much the same as C notching a frame for extra clearance, only one a door and upside down. You'll want to cut out that area, and weld in sheet metal. If you want that bar I would suggest running it alone the entire inside of the door to the sides then welding it to a 1/4" plate that runs alone the inside edges of the door then welding that to the inside of the door, that way it would be an accual structual piece and brace the door. You've also got to consider that are some pieces that will be running though behind that. I'm sure you allready know you'll be loosing the window entirely. Your door handle linkage also will run behind that and will take some re-routing to still make functional.
