Ebrake cable

I have a 2002 2.4L Cavy, my ebrake is really lose and i only have 30 000kms on it, i contacted the dealer, they told me its self adjusting. I am still waiting for it to adjust and I contacted a few places and they said the cheapest they could do it for was $50.00. So i was wondering hwo can i tighten the parkin brake cable myself? i have a manual transmission
