ok i go over bumps and a thud noise seems to be coming from my rear end, only when either i hit the gas , or just a lil bump. no i found a line hanging down that had like a styrofoam wrap on it that i think went to the wheel, it was raining so i didnt get a good look, but its got some kind of covor on it, anyone know what that is, and maybe any ideas on this noise? just until i can figure out what the hell it is....
now onto the real question.
lakewood drag shocks are my next purchase option, are they worth it, what are the pros/cons and obviously better traction is something ill see for the hole shot but what exactly do they do as a shock are they firmer on launch, squat...there 50/50 ratio btw

He's not talking about those making the thud noises, he's talking about the car.

Check... LCA's and torque arm. As for lines going to the wheels... alls I know of is brakes, that would be bad if thats whats hanging. lol

brake lines are steel, might be emergency brake cable; not too familiar with third gen setup. as for the thump, no clue. is the car lowered? maybe its bottoming out. could be dead spring or blown shock.

i think i figured it out, it was the emergency brake cable hitting the axle??? idk either but after it stopped rainging i got under it, and it made the same exact noise so i repositioned the bump cushion and it stopped..but im still gonna get drag shocks, well just say they were "worn down"

glad to hear you got it worked out. didnt think that the e-brake could make that much of a thud, but ya learn somethin new everyday.
also, 97, are you talking about the line that runs to the axle, or the lines that run to the calipers themselves. on my car there was a soft line that ran from the chassis to the axle, but along the axle to the calipers were steel lines. just wondering if they changed it over the years...
