is it just because im a girl?

i love street racing...its a thrill whether im the driver or not, but..i hardly ever get the chance to actually do it. when i do its either with my brother or my friend and no one else. is it because im a girl, that everyong thinks i dont want to race/ or even know how? and the only cars that ever do wanna race me are way out of my league and i think are fools for just trying to race me, cause obviously it wont be a problem for them... like say, an sti, a a4, and a sts have all tried to race me but im not gonna bite something that will eat my grocery getter alive.

but ya what would i have to do to entice people? and what kind of cars should i be going after?

I wouldn't say they're fools..they're probably just trying to flirt with you or show off infront of you. Atleast the STi. Speaking of STis and girl racers..I raced a girl driving an STi once and I won. It was awesome. I have no idea what she did to mess up that bad. I think she missed 2nd or something because she went screaming off the line and then looked like she hit a brick wall as I flew past her. It made my car feel really fast...right when I got into my power band I just flew past her like she was standing still. haha. It was weird...I think I have it on video somewhere at home.

i cant really imagine the Sti was tryin to flirt with me cause i passed him at 50 while he was waiting to turn onto the road i drove by him on. Then i looked in my rear view mirror and he was flying to catch up to me, got on my ass and then got next to me when the road went to two lanes and kept speeding up and then slowing down next to me..i couldnt help but just look at him like he was fricken nuts... my brother just guessed that it wasnt his car

well your car is the same league as a CTS and your car is quicker then a 1.8T A4. A4's are slow unless you do some work to them. so dont' underestimate your car, you would be surprised at how quick it is. just don't mess with the cars that will definitly put a hurt on you, like a Camaro or the newer Stang GT's and turbo imports.

actually i think the car was a deville, but he was riding next to me and his passanger wouldnt stop just lookin so mean and staring at me. and then the next thing i knew we both punched it, my car jumped a head at least a car length and a half and it stayed like that for like 3 secs and then he just started slowly catching up to me and by the time he was at my rear bumper i just shut it down in defeat.. so i would have to say its deff faster on the top end dont know about off the line. they do seem to have some big engines tho

i often dont even bother racing girls, no offense, but normally they dont want to race. And any time i see a girl who might want to race, shes driving something like a V6 mustang or camaro.

Same thing here, I see girls with cars that have like a body kit and stuff but they wont bite, cell phone in hand or not.

you have to give your car a look that makes people want to race it, like if i were to see ur car at a light i wouldnt think anything of it, but if i see a civic with a huge coffee can hangin off the back of the car and a crazy kit ill look at the driver and see if he looks back, and im sure if anybody who is lookin for a race will do the same when pulling up to me. so put a new exhaust on your car or a kit or something to grab peoples attention. just a suggestion.

believe me i would LOVE too... nicely lookin modified cars is a HUGE turn on :grinyes: ... but there wont be no fart cans going on my car.. plus... i have no mula :frown:

Never ran into many on the street that liked to run but the few I did were in Minivans and such so there is really no compettition but I raced a few ladies at the Drag Strip quite a few times, no pun intended but they can be a real bitch to beat! The ones I knew at the Track are good behind the wheel.

Maybe tint the windows too so people at night wont be able to tell that they just got beaten by a girl.

Try throwing out some invites, a few revs, a (hey u wanna race look). There are alot of guys out there that wont back down simply because

A. They want to impress you.
B. They think their manhood is at stake.

The few girls that i have raced it was them that issued the challenge. I am just driven down the road in meh Srt-4 when i see a friend of mine's lightning. I look over to find him in the passenger seat and his girly behind the wheel. She just looked at me and gunned it, lol the chase was on. :evillol:

You and me both, lol. There's a girl that drives a rail (dragster) where I race and I've raced her twiced in eliminations and have never beaten her (I red lighted both times against her, like .497 and .498--.500 is perfect).

She's the only one that drives in my class, and she sure is good on the lights. So I don't know if its just her, or if all girls have good reflexes, but either way, she sure does.

So yeah, I have no problem with racing a girl, of course the only time I get the chance is on a track, and from my experience, there just is not alot of women that race in the top bracket classes (where you have track only cars) for whatever reason.

is your car 5 speed? cause usually i pick a race only against standards, if someone is sitting at a light on level ground, with the brake lights on, i usually wont bother.

Welcome to AF. It's nice to have a young lady on the boards here. As you can tell. This is a complete sausage fest here. But, just beware. We would like to have more young ladies such as yourself around here. So please, you don't have to worry about bsing or anything like that. Just be yourself here, and you won't have a problem at all. No need to impress any of us.

Anywho...soooo would it strike your interest if I wanted to race you for a date. You're pretty cute :naughty:. Plus, I think my Civ could give you a run for your money. As far as racing anyone goes, just give a little rev as Dampachi said. Try inching forward on someone, give a little hop as well. Hell, why not honk on someone, get their attention and see if they want to. Also, if you are already in motion, just roll along side someone, take off (jump ahead), slow down, and get by their side again. That is always an indicator that someone wants to take a run. Just some suggestions for you.

BTW, nice Max, I took the time to check it out on your domain page. Good looking car all together. But I think you are cuter :biggrin:. L8...

In terms of ur problem, there are some ppl who would feel embarassed losing to a girl, so they just don't bother...there are also some ppl who just aren't interested in racing period, though their car would say otherwise...I would say just be patient, and pick your spots, you will get a chance to absolutely crush some unsuspecting person

but if you want a cheap VERY CHEAP way to get people to race you, *auto or man* do what i do... pick out the person you want to race and point at them and laugh. either that or challenge their manhood, nothing in the world can compell a man to race more than placing his manlyness on the line. I usually just laugh or if you have some dollars get some altezzas (after we put them on the tib, good God, we've had nothing but challenges) in my car it's still got some body work needed to be done, so i usually say "my piece of shit is faster than your piece of shit" and it's on.

also, just thinking about this, alot of the guys that are out racing are single because they spend all their money on their car and have nothing left to spend on a girl. that's why they depend on the car to get the girl, and most guys i've talked to say that if a girl pulls up to them and challenges them, they'll go for it no matter what. I've raced a eclipse with a girl in it (said girl racing league on the back) beat her by a length (musta been a newer pringles door eclipse with at least exaust work done) I wouldn't say if i lost i wouldn't be a little upset, but it doesn't make me any less of a man, it makes you more of a man to race a girl.

Beating a girl who is almost as fast as you feels awesome. Cause when the cars are pretty equal it comes down to the stick driving. And that's something that the girls i raced before (one in a Z3, with stick, as are the most normal family, sports, roadster cars here, and one in a tuned compact BMW) were very good in. Was surprised there tho :icon16:
And i must say those were the races i still remember the best with a smile on my face.
But both the races were very surprising at the start cause the girl in the Z3 had a beautiful start without letting me now she was going for it. And the second race with the compact we kept racing for about 6 miles and a couple of lights and all that time she was calling (she was auto) with her boss or something (looked like a secretary mid 20's :biggrin: )

So maybe the girls that want to race need to rev it or do something at the start that makes it clear that they wanna race. Cause i can assure you, the more girls the more fun it would be :iceslolan

And PS, that's not girl-hating, for me it's more girl-loving :smokin: :biggrin:

One of my favorite races was against two chicks in a vert C5, they kept up really well, only about a car back :) Didn't hurt that they were really hot either :naughty:

Drop in a 3.5L and STIs with have a really hard time catching you.

I remember when i lost to a girl. I was in my 85 Nissan 200sx. She had like a 90ish honda accord, i got smoked pretty bad, but it was fun to get smoked by a girl, just didn't expect it. Shocked the hell out of me.

i dont usually race girls because they dont ever wanna race me.
my advice is, rev your engine or if on a roll, just give it a couple punches to let him know you wanna race. any man will race a girl if tempted enough.

I don't think that the problem is you as much as it is your car. You drive a four door family sedan. While it isn't a slow car, it isn't one that most people race. I'm a guy and I have a lot of trouble getting people to race me. I would equate that to the fact that I drive a LeBaron. It is a fast car but people don't know it is or they don’t think someone driving one would want to race. That might change since I replaced the stock wheels and tires and it might change even more with the other exterior plans I have for the car. It is great to have a sleeper, but not if it is too much of a sleeper. Also, don’t always under estimate your car. An A4 isn’t a very fast car. I beat one with my old 94 Eagle Vision (aka Dodge Intrepid). Now it wasn’t what I would call a fast car in any respect. I am pretty sure that your car would have no trouble with an Eagle Vision.

If you want to race, let them know. Rev your engine, honk your horn, flash your lights, hell you could even yell out your window and let them know your intentions.

I can tell you that I don't care who is driving; I'll race you regardless.

I remember trying to keep up with a girl driving a 328i in LA traffic...she was driving crazy, so I just let her go...too bad, she was rather attractive...oh and this one time these two girls in a tacoma tried to show off for me by nearly getting in an accident by cutting off the car to the side of me...I was on my phone at the time and they did that little "call me" thing...I just laughed...the crazy things girls do to get my attention :D

Oh and 99redmaxSE, I love your car...kinda wish they had that color available for the 5th gen. maximas, I woulda probably chosen it instead of Sterling Mist.

yep. Gotta agree with Polygon. Its the car not you. If you were looking for a race, who would you rather compete against? A Honda with a wing, bodykit, wheels, and a fart cannon? Or a mundane 4-door family car?

But, yea, I'm a guy, and I dont even get revved on by the ricers.. I guess the "Thunderbird=Old Person Car" theory spread like an epedemic.

Most girls I know who like to drive fast don't know the physics that affect the cars performance, for example: braking before a turn and accelerating out at the apex...etc...
I mean they like to drive fast, but they are dangerous because they only know how to stomp on the gas pedal, but not how to brake or turn properly (thank god for abs).
So if I race a girl and she crashes coming around a fast corner I'd feel guilty for trying to race a girl. If I raced a guy and he crashes I'd just blame him and I wouldn't feel guilty.

I agree with Underground_Killah, a race is a race, and I think you should take every race you can get, even if you lose, you can know what some cars are capable of, plus rite now it's not really "racing season" so I don't think many people are going to bite, but you never know.... good luck with that stuff tho...
