Alright, I have a 1989 5.0L. I smashed up my Dynomax Exhaust and I'm now looking at replacing the entire cat-back system which I've been looking for a reason to do for a long time anyways. The dynomax isn't very loud but it makes my engine sound rrrreeeeeaaalllly smooth. I want something loud but doesn't make my car seem like a white trash mobile. Something loud but fairly smooth. Any suggestions? I have the GT not the LX by the way.

Go with spintech. Trust me on this one. It sounds so sweet you have to make a trip to the bathroom to clean yourself. If u dont believe me go on the site and check out the videos of them. Dont go flowmaster. Thats not any better than the dynomax. In fact, its worse, IMO. And it would be considered white trash because everyone has it and its cheap.

Oh, and performance gains are HUGE! for exhaust anyway. i have mac shorties and h pipe, and a spintech side exit system, and everyone looks my way even when crusing. Oh and when you step on it, it screams, but somehow it maintains a low profile when lower rpms-like 800-1700

Check out my site. I have a few video clips of my exhaust. BBK shorties, MAC o/r-h-pipe, MAC catback. Of course my motor is modded, but you will get a good idea of what it sounds like.

I have ran Mac mufflers and tailpipes. I thought they were too quiet and they reminded me of a too generic performance muffler: they sound like Flowmasters. Most people like that sound though. But thats my opinion.

Too quite? You have not heard my car, it's freaking loud, louder then 80% of cars in my area. Also Mac sounds nothing like Dronemasters. Mac is more throaty, and does not give you that drove/roving sond that flows do in the cockpit of the car when crusing. Mac is a rather unique muffler.

ya i heard your car and i wouldnt change it. I like it 2. I dunno the ones i bought only sound cool around 4700+ rpms. mine were throaty when i didnt run the tailpipes but they did sound like flows. so they are calling them dronemasters now?

My MAC's sounded nothing like the ubiquitious Dronemaster American thunders. The flows tone would not change from idle to full throttle it kept that low drone at all times.
Unlike my MAC's where it would get louder wit the gas pedal and never just did a low droning noise and nothing else.
