Door panel speakers

Hey im new to this stuff. Ive been seaching around here, founds some great ideas for cheap prices. But i have 93 ford escort i wanna replace the front door speakers because there blown but i cant seem to be able to remove the panel? I cant seem to be able to remove the window crank w/o snaping the piece because the saftey lock is keepign it in and it is stopping me from removing it. any ideas?

get an old cloth and have the handle pointing down.
put the cloth under the handle and hold it from each side
moving it back and forth whille pulling upward.
should be effortless as the pin pops out.
