I am looking to get body work done on my 66 fairlane. i was wondering if it was cheaper to get all of the panels and then have it done or take it somewhere and let them fix the problem parts. also does anyone know of a good place to get body panels

Check out the vendors on Woody's Fairlanes website. You can probably get panels from AutoKrafters. As for replacing the panels, unless you are an experienced welder or bodyman, you can easily warp the panels you are welding on to and create more problems. I just finished both rear quarters, inner fenders and floor pans (+ some minor repair on front fenders) on my '63 Sports Coupe. I did most of the work myself with the help of an expert bodyman. The replacement panels (quarters) were aftermarket and not of the best quality. They had to be tweaked and massaged in a number of areas to get a nice, smooth finish. Not a job for a novice. The body work is the heart of a fine car---make sure it's done right! :p Snappy
