If your thinking about a taurus just make shure its a SHO model. I have an 89 SHO its got a Yamaha designed and built 3.0 litre 24Valve 220 HP v6 and a five speed manual trans. 0-60 in the low to mid sixes the 1/4 mile in high 13's to mid 14's stock depending on year and trans. And its a good sleeper.

For more info go to www.shotimes.com and www.shoforum.com

One more thing is that there cheap to buy and insure. My 89 costed $1200 and insurance is the same as a regular taurus.

Actually realistic numbers are 0-60 in 6.6 and a 14.9-15.2 stock. 13s would require power adders, low 14s would require some major mods and slicks. But i can see why it might be deceiving, my car feels like a 14 second car. Its jsut that traction is hard to come by and kills the sho in the 1/4. It was the fastest US sedan in history in 1989.

Bet you ran out of gas soon after...:D Maybe i can trade me 94 GL for a 89 SHO. I know some Sho's had major head gasket problems which cost anywhere from 600$ and up to fix. (not sure which model years)

According to Edmunds.com, the Taurus SHO sedan has a 3.4 liter 235hp engine with 230 lb/ft torque, 0-60 in 7.7 seconds...

At home, we have a 24V Taurus. It has a 200 hp engine. Can't tell you exact specs other than that though... don't know them off-hand

Thats the V8 sho with auto transmission only, the older SHOs with the V6s did 0-60 in 6.6 15.2 1/4...
