Bumper End/Extention

Someone recently gave my car a hit a run while it was parked. It destroyed the corner of the bumper on the rear passenger side. I need to get a replacement part for it to pass state inspections this year. I am looking around on the internet and Autozone and I wanted to know if this part is the bumper end or bumper extention. It isn't the part that goes across the back, but comes off of the side of a the car and goes back to meet the bumper, creating the corner. Some confirmation before I order the part (and advice where to get it) would be great. Thanks!

I bought mine from a dealer, had it painted and complete was around $200 bucks complete...I put the molding on and put it on my truck myself...pretty easy.

But it was the right rear bumper extension which extends just behind the rear wheel to the bumper....a sort of rubberized plastic..

FYI the confusing part for me was the different options/styles available during my year of 99. Had to provide the dealer with a VIN# to get the exact fit / style.....maybe your's will be easier...

Well, I know there is only one version of mine out there, and I have the molding. But what will it take to fix this thing? Do I need a lot of tools, or can I do it with a socket set and some power tools,etc? Thanks for the help!!

If it's like mine it's fairly easy......

1) Loosen the screws around the wheel molding chrome peice or the ones (if any)that attache to the bumper extension.

2. Socket set to remove the metal brace reinforcing rod to the frame,

3. Socket set to remove the 4 (I can't remember) bolts that attaches the bumper extention to the rear fender assy and it should drop right out.

4. attach your molding, mine required that I drill holes into the assy....

5. and simply reverse procedure to install the bolts...

Hint: Leave your bolts -to- fender just slightly loose until you attach the chrome wheel well strip, line up so that things are aligned then tighten ...you want things to line up......
