95 Blazer stalls

I just replaced the plugs, plug wires, distributor, and rotor on my 95 Blazer. It will start and run great for a while, then stalls out of nowhere. It's only happened a few times, and it seems to be when I'm slowing down. I'm sure all my wiring connections are tight and wired properly, the plug gap is set to .045, and the catalytic convertor is brand new, so I know that's not causing a problem.

Could this be caused by a clogged EGR valve? Any other ideas?

Does the engine run smooth and just slow down until it stops or does it start to run rough and then shut off? EGR will give the rough running concern. Does it seem to happen mostly in damp weather?

The engine starts and runs perfectly, then out of the blue it will stall AS I'm slowing down for a light, turn, etc. The only time it's difficult to start is immediately after it stalls.

One thing I just noticed: ****My knock sensor was disconnected (I think it's the knock sensor - it's near the #3 plug, which was the bitch to get out). The sensor is very corroded and barely stays connected when I put it back on. I think when I'm driving it probably falls back off - does this sensor control the spark?

Check fuel pressure.

You might have a CPI injector or nut kit failure.

The knock sensor is on the back of the block near the distributor.

You're right - it wasn't the knock sensor. It's on the driver's side and it's close to the oil fill. It leaks coolant when you attempt to remove it...

Gee... who'da guessed? It's the coolant temperature sensor. I picked up a new one today at Murray's for $10.99. I'm skeptical that this will fix the problem, but I've been told that it probably will because this sensor ties in with 2 other sensors that control fuel flow? Who the hell knows...

A tip for anyone looking for a coolant temp sensor for a 95 blazer - if they give you one that looks too small to fit the connector, tell them to look up GP Sorensen part #TSU155. I'm not sure if it was listed wrong or I was asking for the wrong sensor, but mine is definitely a coolant sensor and the above part number was the perfect fit for it.

That's the coolant temperature sender for the dash gauge. The coolant temperature sensor for the computer is near the EGR valve
