Hi this is my first post. I couldn't find any previous posts about my question. Thanks for any help you may give!
I am wanting to replace the serpentine belt in my 93 lumina 3.1 v6 Eurosport. In the Haynes manual it shows the engine with only one belt, however, I have a second belt that needs to be removed first before changing the serpentine. What is the name of this second belt? How do I remove it and is there anything specific thing I need to do to tighten this second belt when I am finished.
Thanks!

Yes, It is a small secondary belt. The technician that recommended the replacement said it would cost a little more because I have a two-belt system. Of course, I would like to do the work myself!

Whoa. I have no idea. I've never seen a 2nd belt on a 3.1, especially not from 1993. My haynes manual says nothing about it either. Sorry.

I wonder if you have CA emissions and it's a smog pump or something?

You might be right. I do remember hearing at one time that the car had come from a rental fleet in California. I will check into it to see if I can find more info.
Thanks!
