I hate those shows, like pimp my ride and tuner transformation (is that even on anymore?). It'd be cool if there was a show that was better and did more performance and less looks. I'll probably check out the show anyways, I remember they had an old ass CRX on there before too.

that crx was insane, i'd be pretty happy to get a beater fixed up.
they need to give our car a good name and make it fast and not covered with chrome and shit. they're gonna reinforce the 'ricer' image for hondas....

the caprice turned impala is my friend Tom's, we used to go to church and school together.
It was so wierd seeing him on tv. That wasn't even his house that he got picked up from. and all that interior damage was never there before the show... how odd...

Yeah, I always that it was set up. The house thing is probably just to protect his identity. And whenever Xsibit is walking down the street he's like "I'm going to pimp out my boy Tom's ride, and he has no idea that I'm coming". Yeah, right. And notice how they almost never even touch the engine? I would rather have a fast car than 10 amps in the trunk. The quality of the work sucks also. Body kits usually don't even line up.

I'd submit my car for pimp my ride. And I'd give them a list of what I want done (hello SiR conversion). And I would ghetto rigg a wire on my hood latch so they couldn't touch my engine. When they did that 1g CRX, they took out the motor and "did a rebuild", but didn't do anything really....

When they did the 240sx the only thing they did to the engine was a dress-up kit. (lol)

I would say the quality of the work was great just what they do is stupid and ugly...most of the cars they put body kits on they dont even make body kits for the cars so they have to mod a piece meant for a different car. It's only a T.V. show...look at the cars they do for people the high end cars they are top notch.
Now tuner transformation those guys do little to no work to the car itself, its mostly shipped somewhere and real professionals do it, granted they dont make cars look as stupid as pimp my ride does.

Those cars don't sell well. They only get like $10-$15 thousand on ebay, and they probably put about $25-$30k into them.

i don't like over-hauling. i think it's lame they make up some stupid story and drag it out all episode to "make it interesting"
my friend called last night to inform me of the upcoming pimp my ride. dangit i wish the weather would let up so we can paint the building and get our doors open. if my shop were already functional i would so challenge west coast customs. their great ideas suffer during execution.
gimmie 10 days or less, i'll blow you off your feet :evillol:

Tom, the guy with the Impala, went to a casting call, and they selected him with 9 other people out of about 4000 he said. You just bring your car in. But he said the MTV people were more intrested in the personality of the person instead of the car.
I guess because they can fuck the car up a lot before they put it on tv

that and because of people selling them right away, MTV makes u sign a contract saying you cant sell the car for something like 2 years.

Tom told me that he can sell it if he wants, but he is not allowed to use the words "Pimp my Ride" in any advertisments
As long as he doesn't ever publish that it was on the show he said he could sell it. If someone asks he can say yes, but otherwise he has to just sell it without pimp my rides name

I've seen lots of cars from the show using the name Pimp my ride.
