Don't really know where this thread should go so... sorry...
I was wondering who makes a shortshifter for 2000 g20 and how much is it? Also, is there a way to get rid of that rubbery feeling in the shifter? Thanks... :)

:smoka: U can find short shifters at www.stillen.com, I belive. OR else u can just cut of with some fancy power tool, that works, I`ve done it! Much cheaper than buying a short shifter.

LOL ..cutting the shifter does have a shortening effect ..but not what a short shifter is designed for. Short actually means shortening the throw..i.e. from 1st to 2nd, the throw being the distance you have to pull the knob. A short shifter makes short work of the 1st to 2nd gear change.
Pacesetter makes a good short shifter, I just got mine for my 99 G20t which is the same one used on nx2000, sentras etc. Have not put it in yet...but will do so soon.

agreed, please dont cut your shifter and think you are getting the performance of a real short shifter.

If the P11 uses the same shifter as other SR20 powered cars...
The Stealin shifter is very nice, but they are very proud of it. It's about 3x what the Courtesy SS costs. I'm seen most of the SR20 SS on the market and the Courtesy SS is probably the best quality of them all and it's also the cheapest.
Call Courtesy Nissan (800) 527-1909 and ask for Vince (don't talk to anyone else). It runs about $60-70 IIRC. I had to cut the threads off because it's a little taller than stock, but cutting it at the shoulder of the threads was perfect.
As for the rubbery feeling, get a ES shifter bushing, also available from Courtesy.

i like the stillen shifter although it costed me a grip but it's actually a pretty nice product because it comes with the entire housing where the shifter sits in. A nice carbon copy of the C's short shifter in Japan...hahah
anyway...waaay off topic but P10DET, if i were to consider getting a P10, what's the best year to get? thanks!

Thanks for the help! I'll look into the Stillen one, but it's pretty expensive (something like $250??)...
Luke: did you get my email about the lip? Thanks...

SUCKER! ;)
The housing of the Stealin is very nice, but it has also been more likely to buzz than the ones that use the OEM housing.
Search the SE-R Mailing List archives for Stillen shifter buzz.
The SMC (the Pacesetter is the SMC made under license) is a good shifter as well. On top of that Steve is a P10 owner and a big supporter of the SR20 community. If you go to SMC for the SS, tell Steve I sent you.

That's a good question. My druthers is the 91-93. My reasoning is that those years are closer to the sporting flavor of the Primera. After that Infiniti tweaked it more towards the entry level luxo car. The suspension tuning of the 91-93 was the best. They also had the high port engine.
OTOH, a 94+ t version comes with VLSD. It has nicer seats as well. But, in 94 Nissan went to the low port engine. The 94+ t version gets the same suspension as the 91-93 suspension.
Exterior is somewhat of a fielder's choice. Some like the body colored side moulding, polished wheels, and new grill of the 94+ and others like the black moulding and early grill.
