Wax and buff?

I was the guy asking about what type of wax to use on my truck...Thanx for all the help...but i was just curious though...I was talking to my uncle and he said i should have my truck buffed out first. I dont want to have a detail shop do it because i wanted to do it myself. I was just wondering if anyone knew what I need to use in order to buff it out. He was explaining to me theres a gel type of liquid that the detail shops squirt on the body before they buff it. Does anyone know were I could get this stuff or anything similar in order to buff out my truck? Thanks for any information

What you need is a buffer, wool pad and rubbing compound(only need this step if truck is really scratched up)a foam pad and rubbing compound and/or polish and then a coat of wax. When buffing stay off the edges(hood, fenders)or you could burn through. You can get these items at NAPA.

You'll have to shop around, but Costco used to be the best prices by far for these buffers

when you buff let the buffer ride, dont put pressure on itwhile buffing or you could burn it. most buffers are heavy enough you dont have to push down on them.
