95 Lumina APV cracked subframe at rear mount

I know there was a recall on the earlier Luminas for this problem - is anyone aware of a recall for the 95 with this same problem?

It basically corrodes at the mount, cracks, flexes then starts to break other things....

Looking for a good used subframe in NE Ohio :(

No. Hadn't heard of that on Luminas. 'Course you probably get a ton of salt on roads where you live.

I read something someplace, dont remember now about the rear sub frame mounting points rusting either loose of floor or something on early cars, but were soon "redesigned"? shouldnt apply to a 95 anyway.
Possibly a rare case of rust or a bad weld on the 95? beats me

I got the subframe swapped out. The old one was completely broken between the DS A-arm mounts. The front cross member was completely broken at the welds on the DS also. Front motor mount was torn off. DS driveshaft had been hitting the broken frame so it was shot too.

There were NO unrusted subframes in the local junkyards - so this can't just be an occasional problem. Most all had severe rust at one of the front mount pads. I ended up getting one and welding a new plate in and replacing all the frame mounts, motor/trans mounts, lower ball joints and the driveshaft.

A lot of money spent for what I think is/was a design issue.
