94Thunderbird Front Brake Rotors

How do I remove the front brake rotors for replacement? There is a large nut "retainer" approx 1 1/2" that I don't know how to remove, which I believe is holding the rotor on the hub spindle. Do I pry it off to get to the nut behind or should I just loosen it with the correct size sprocket?
Please help.

Use a rubber or plastic hammer and hit the rotor face near the outer edge in several locations around the rotor to break it free of the spindle. I don't believe it is part of the spindle so you shouldn't have to remove the nut. When you buy the new rotors you will see how they seperate.

Hi,
I just did my son's 94 T-bird front brakes, they were the easiest brakes I've ever done. The rotors come off easy. Just remove the calibers and the rotor should come right off. If their is a lot of rust you might have to hit it with a hammer.
