will 215/45/r17 fit a 98 civic?

Right now i have 205/40/r17 on my ride, but i been blowing out tires (3). i was told to go up to 45, and that 215 will give me a bit more traction b/c of width. but i'm not sure if they'll fit on the car with it dropped (1.5 inch).

can this be done, if so, what mods do i have to make? don't want tire rubbin goin on.

What's blowing your tire? Potholes? What's the air pressure you run? What size wheels? How low are you dropped?

17in rim, potholes doin the damage. dropped about 1.5 inch i don't recall the exact pressure, but usually put in 3-4psi less than required b/c of my added weight (200lb)

You should run MORE. When I ran 17s I used to run 40psi front and rear. Visited my family out in Long Island plenty of times hitting potholes and such with no problems.

Also learn pothole avoidance. This is why I don't tailgate people anymore so incase a road hazard comes up I can avoid it.
