Changeing Throttle body...anything else?

ALRIGHTY THEN, if yuo are looking at this thread then THANK YOU SO MUCH.
ok enough of the drama, here's the deal.
I've been talking to my friend about changeing the throttle body on hix 2002 Mustang GT for a little boost in HP, but the main question that pops up is, "would i have to change or tune any of my other parts in order for that new throttle body to work best or at all." Now i realise that of course you can make it work better by maybe changeing the induction or something more air right. though i'm not even sure if that is right, but so you get what he's erlaly asking, what else do i have to spend money on in order to actually a worth while gain in hp? and also this means, ofcourse, he doesn't like spending moeny, WHO DOES. we like keeping our money (unless of course your a rich SOB that pimps your ride, with out any undersatnding of what your doing, just to say it's pimped and your cool, BLAH TO YOU ALL)
AND A SUMMERY FOR THOSE WHO DON'T LIKE TO READ SO MUCH:

better mods would be intake, exhaust, gears. i asked same question earlier bout the throttle body, and if it adds hp on a stock engine, and u wont really see any difference, after new heads or intake manifold you will see the difference.

If you dont have gears, get gears. They are by far the biggest bang for the buck. Also, go to www.foxlakeracing.com They have an intake called the P-51. Looks nice and adds lots of power, i'll be getting one in the near future.

now the one thing i like about being a newbie is that you have the privledge of asking embarssing questions...so here it goes
explain what you meab by gears, it rings a bell but i can't seem to put my finger on it
oh and if it has anythign to do with a manuel transmission do'nt bother explaining, m friend's parentals made sure he got an automatic spcifically ebcuase they don't want him raceing, we're attmepting to change that though (obviously)

He means rear end gears. Going with a steeper gear like 3.55's, 3.73's or 4.10s will make your car faster out of the hole. Faster out of the hole meaning quicker acceleration. This mod will not add more horsepower but you will definately feel the difference. Best bang for the buck mod you can do.
As far as your throttle body question. If thats the only part being replaced no you won't be able to tell the difference.

ok i was thinking about what eillob said about steeper gears in the diff. (3.55, 3.73, 4.10) increases the punch off the line and overall acceleration, but not hp. how does a steeper gear increase your acceleration, and what are the numbers (3.55, etc.) measureing: steepness of the teeth on the gear, angel in the diff., size maybe, etc.

Taller gears basically spin faster in relation to the engine RPM. 2.73 gears will spin 2.73 times for every 1 spin of the driveshaft. 3.73 gears will spin 3.73 times for every 1 turn of the driveshaft, etc.
Basically it's the same idea as when you use a rope and pulleys to lift up a 400hp load that you couldn't lift on your own, yet mechanically you're setting it up so that you can.

- ex. gas consumption (i wouldn't think so), cause of strain, or an increased need for a heavier foot, etc.
- which gears in the rear diff are being changed
- what size, would be recommened for an increase in performance but still good for street driveing
- what manufacturers shoudl i look into
and the most important
- would installing these myself (or with one of my friends) be recommended or is this deifnitely a garage job.

I run Ford Motorsport gears. I trust the quality and have had no problems. This is not a mod I would recommend you do unless you know what your doing. Lash has to be set correctly which requires proper tools and skill. If this is a daily driver I would recommend either 3.55s or 3.73s.

i'll answer this question for the sake of others, despite your comments in your 'good day to get banned thread'.
lash is a term for how much space is between two moving parts... it applies to valvetrain parts (rocker arms/pushrods/valve stems) and gears of all kinds (between the teeth). in a rear end, the ring and pinion gear are changed... the pinion being the smaller one connected directly to the driveshaft, and the ring being the gear around the differential. by adjusing the side-to-side location of the differential, you increase the disance (lash) between the gear teeth. this allows for thermal expansion and lateral motion of the differential/axles inside the rear end housing. if it's too little there will not be enough lubrication under these conditions and the parts will wear too quickly. too much, and there won't be enough contact area between the gears, causing premature failure (read: broken gears etc).
setting this correctly requires a great deal of practice, time, and patience, as well as precision tools.
setting up a rear end correctly involves more than setting lash: pinion depth has to be established for the correct contact pattern with the ring gear, pinion bearing preload has to be set correctly. any mistakes in the whole process results in premature failure, noise, and other fun conditions. it has to be done by a professional who knows exactly what he's doing.
a numerically higher rear gear causes your engine to turn higher rpms at the same vehicle speed, increasing gas consumption, but not by much... consumption of fuel is dependant on engine load, not engine speed.

To answer your original question...just a throttle body wouldn't be that great of an idea. You'd want a throttle body/upper intake plenum combo for best results.

Oh by the way Break I side with ya with that stupid dispute. Moderators or not they still dont have the right to call anyone a moron. Just cause they have the power their "O-P-I-N-I-O-N" should not effect their actions. I have been dissed on by them and u in this last thread since i apply to "the just out of high school" people. Ive grown up in the pits, thats how i know. The racer's opinion (theres that word again) is what effects my decision. building an engine is all about opinion. u have to be a dumbass to not understand that. the way u use that engine is all in opinion. just like police officers. they are meant to keep the streets safe but yet they use their power to their fullest including THEIR opinion. yeah maybe true, but i still made it too personal. It' true that there is lots of power abuse with moderators, but there are still good ones (as i've found out, and i'm not trying to flatter it's just simple fact), but i didn't have to exclusively hit on GTStang's image.
