Hi All
i have a 1986 Peugeot 205 GR, 5 doors, and i wanted to make an engine swap for a 206 engine (1.6i one)..

my question is, is the chassis of the 1986 205 can hold that engine ( i meant under the hood area, cos i heard that there is some differences between the area under the hood in the models above and below 1990)or not ?? and what about the engine mountings ?? and would it be hard to do that swap or not ??..!!!

thanks in advance..!!

Almost certainly the engine mounts will be different, as for physical space, I`m sure there will be enough room but the work you would need to do would be astronomicel and not worth the bother, you would somehow need to fit in the wiring loom from a 206 to fit the ecu and sensors, and somehow tie that in to the 205 dash controls. an almost impossible task unless your an expert electrician. Also you would need to upgrade the fuel pump to cope with pressure needed to operate the injectors. you`d need custom drive shafts, custom made gear linkages unless by some miricle they were the same. A custom exhaust. that would just abut do it, be much easyer to buy a 205 1.6 gti engine or for ease a 205 1.4 XS engine which is a little rocket if you can find an early twin webber version.
