I just recently had my transmission rebuilt and have already had it back in twice. Once was because it vibrated when there was a lot of wieght in the car and the second time was becuase my car would no longer move in reverse. Now it shifts fine from first to second, then when i shift from second to third it does one of two things: it either makes a terrible "clunk" sound when it shifts, or the rpm's just keep going up and it will not shift on its own until i let off the gas. It is a 98 gp gt with 130k miles and the tranny was just rebuilt about 3-4k miles ago.

Did the shop who rebuilt the tranny give you a warranty? Sounds like they may have skipped over inspecting and/or replacing components maybe related to the torque convertor or valve body, etc. I'd keep on taking it back or put them on notice to fix it correctly.

:iagree: If the transmission shop did their job right then the transmission should shift and work like a new one. I would take it back and insist that they pull the transmission again and fix what they obviously screwed up. If they refuse then become a pain in their collective back sides. Call the better business bureau about them if you have to. You spent a lot of money to have this transmission repaired and they owe it to you to get it right or to give your money back so you can take it somewhere else to have it repaired. Good Luck!!!

It sounds like you 2-3 clutch is burnt out (if it's a auto) check bearings also. did you get tranny flush after 70,000 miles?
