I like Mothers products, but to be perfectly honest I've used probably 20 different high quality with very simular results.
Just don't buy anything off TV infomercials. If you see someone burning lighter fluid off a waxed surface it only proves that lighter fluid burns.
Plus those torches that they used to claim were welding torches (a few years back) were only tiger torches designed to melt tar (the sun's heat can melt tar) or light bush fires

Ive used alot of different types of wax. My favorite is Meguires Tech Wax. Its easy 2 get on and off and it seems to last quite a while. with wax you get what you pay for. so dont buy just some cheap house brand and youll be fine.

bkack and reds are the easiest to work with. the best you can find at most stores(like walmart) would have to be turtle paste or magic ....(something). if you can find a carbrite product(liquid) grab it. make sure truck is clean and dry before. indoors or in the shade is best.
if you want a good shine on tires use ultra-blue. if you have crome to shine try medalian it is good.

Holy HELL NO!
Black is the WORST color to work on. Shows everything.
Mother's is the best wax IMO.

Wizards Shine Master. The easiest and fastest I've seen yet.I have also had it last up to 4 monthes and if you use it you'll see why it is worth it,EASY.Wipe it on,let dry, wipe it off.Not like wax where you have to rub like a mad man. Also if you happen to run into a textured black molding,it rubs right off.Do that with a wax.LOL!

i prefur to use solid waxes, and really it depends on color and climate, here its mild so about any wax works fine, if you live in sothern texas you want a higher temp wax, kunucks want a cooler wax, solids are the best as i said, but harder to work with, if you dont have a buffer and are doing this by hand then use liqued waxes

I once thought like that to.But I gotta disagree with you on this one.Cars and trucks now a days have base coat clear coat. These paint jobs are less maintence than say the old enamel jobs, where as on the enamels you needed a heavy wax to take off the chaulking effect.Thats why your rag always turned whatever the car color was. This isn't a problem with base clear.

Forgot one thing. After you wax, don't wash with dish liquids or anything that is a degreaser. You will take your wax off in a couple of washing with dish liquids.I like to use Johnson's baby wash, yes that's what I said.Don't knock it untill you try it.

I like Nu-Finish myself. It gets the paint really glossy. Never used anything else except turtle wax. Nu-Finish is the best of those two.

3 compounds and 2 finishes. smothest finish yet. real slick finish.
plus the sight has everything anyone needs. from clay bars to paint sealants.

Well Blazerlt and I both agree on Mothers.
We live where you get both extremes in climate
BlazerLt lives where it gets really cold during winter.
And I live (still in Canada) where it gets really hot in the summer.
Actually currently I'm living in a small border town just out side of Canada's hottest city. We are often hotter than they are.

I have always used mothers. It works better compared to turtle wax and meguiers. Comes off easier and gives a better shine.

I always use Meguires. If your paint is good, any good wax will work. If your paint is looking tired and showing streaks, possibly from excessive waxing and embedded dirt then use Meguires 3-step process. 1+cleaner, 2=polish 3=wax. This is in red bottles with the 1,2,3 on the labels. It will take several hours and lots of elbow-grease, but it works great and will last a long time.

i must agree in saying a FEW of the higher end products are very very similar. i own a detail shop in southwest washington, and i use 3M and Meguires products. one of the best waxes i've used is Meguires Professional Gold Class Carnuba. deep, glossy finish. but i've used mothers also and also like it alot. but make sure that the surface is clear of contaminates, and if it has scratches buff it out first. wax is the protection coating on your car, it doesn't perfect the finish.

But these prices get me, I remember when you could get a car washed for $4.00 and it would be sparkling clean inside and out!

Did you read it?What a bunch of shit that is.Reminds me of a info-mercial I seen once. They applied brand x wax on the front leading edge of a hood.Remember leading edge. Then they applied their wax on the back half of the hood. They put this big fan up in front of the hood, cranked it up and then dumped sand through it.Pretty much sand blasted the front leading edge.Which to say no wax would ever hold up to being sand blasted. Then they said look at our part of the hood with our wax on it,not to mention it was at the back half of the hood.Of course it was alright it didn't get blasted with the sand! Some people will believe anything though.Funny it is.

Meguires, Rain Dance, Turtle, and many other brands, seems to me they all hold up about the same, if one will watch and not park under a tree that leaks sap on the car or the birds do their job on it and or not use an automatic car wash or dish detergent.
Use Mothers Aluminum polish back when I drove an 18 wheeler to polish the Aluminum wheels and fuel tanks. It did right good, but there was another brand that did the job much easier than it, but it was extremely expensive, can't remember the name but I think it had something to do with California.
I recently bought some Mothers Aluminum polish and used on the wheels on my Blazer, it does pretty good, but wish I had some of the other, but I gave it to a friend who has an 18 wheeler and he used it all up, said that was the best he had ever seen and easies to use on aluminum.
Never tried Mothers car wax though.
Oh, I never fall for them TV jobs, their just something to get ones money for nothing! If it sounds to good to be true 99.9999 percent of the time it is!

I know that some people will frown on this, but I wash my cars with dish soap when I want to remove the wax from my auto's.
It isn't bad on my cars, but I had 1 motorcycle where it was the only way I could get it spotless.
I of course wax it right after everything is dry

I like Maguiers (sp) but recently found one called BOM. It is available at www.badtothebom.com
Unbelievable as far as I am concerned.
It took my old beat motorcycle and made it shine. I actually have gotten comments on the difference.
Polishes chrome like nothing I have ever seen.

Here a little different question, based on this one
My car just got repainted last week, and my Blazer should be painted within the next few weeks.
How long should I wait until I wax the new paint?
It's PPG, Base/clear with 4 coats of clear coat (I don't know why Randy used so many coats but my car looks great)
Plus I just got a dual action buffer, and I'm wondering if I should avoid using this for a long while?
Thanks in advance

Ive heard different opinions about that. Some say wait a month for the paint to cure. some have told me you can do it the very next day. im not sure what to think. I would probably call a good paint shop up and ask them whats right.

6 weeks,to be on the safe side. What happens if you wax to soon is that the solvets can't get out because you sealed them in with the wax.
