Hello folks
Well, this has been a learning experence. Never changes anything besides a starter etc and just dropped a new reman engine in my car.
I went from a 91 high output to a 89 standard quad 4. I bought it cheap.
Anyway, it doesn't seem to run right. I have not drove it yet to see how much power it has. I wanted to check some possibilities out.

I checked compression. All around 180psi. So I double checked the timing gears. It is right on the mark.

The fuel injectors are the same. Some don't think I need to change the computer, but I need to dig deeper on that. What do you folks think.

One difference on this engine is a vaccum like from the timing cover to the oil seperator. One the 89 it is a small line. One the 91 it is a large line. I have to read the book to see if this is the difference. The cover was broke on the 89 so I am using the 91 timing cover and vac line. I suppose this could effect fuel delivery to.

I am worried the reman company sold this cheap because they put the wrong crank shaft in it. I read that some rebuilders use a 15 degree advance and if used in the wrong engine it will give no power.

Any of you folks have any experence with this issue? Hypothesis?
