96 Aerostar Making Oil

We're rich! Seriously, my friend has a 96 Aerostar with the v6 engine that continues to make oil and loose auto tx fluid. This happens only when the van is driven. We have difinitively ruled out putting tx fluid in the oil servicing port. I have heard of vehichles loosing tx fluid into the induction system thru a blown diaphram in the vac modulator, but this is an electronically shifted A4LD tranny, has no modulator and that still would not get the tranny fluid into the crank case. Is there a heat exhanger or cooler where the oil and tx fluid mix? We are really stumped on this one. The cooling system is fine, no oil there, no anti freeze in the oil, but a one for one increase in engine oil corresponding to a decrease in tx fluid with no external leaks. Ideas?

I'm a newbie to this forum and don't know how to view solutions to fabb's mysterious aerostar tranny fluid loss (if there were any replies). Please help as I have the identical problem with my '95. Tks, amos
