I am currently looking at a 93' MR2 turbo for 2500-3000$, the guy doesnt know what he has but there is a few little things wrong, first it needs tires which isnt big, then the turbo needs to be rebuilt due to whoever first had the car didnt know how to maintain it, theres a slight oil leak from where they replaced timing belt and removed seal and never replaced, otherwise the car is in pretty good conditions, now the ? is it worth it? ive found places that will rebuild stock turbo because toyota thinks someone will pay 2400$ for 1 from them..which i WONT do.

please put your imput on this situation.

thanks

it sounds like a good deal. i got mine for 3200 and had just minor stuff wrong with it. and just like u said, the guy doesnt know what he has. i say go for it, and for the rebuild, just get a new turbo like a ct20b or ct27

yeah this one needs a mirror also and little paint, total for everything including engine stuff will prolly be around 3-5k depending on what else we find wrong, and about the turbo ive seen 2 different places to sent the stock TC26 off and either them send u one already rebuilt or they rebuild yours, both for under 1k...so most def. im getting the car.

If the frame is straight, I'd take it.

Add up the cost of everything it needs, down to the smallest piece of plastic. If it comes to under $6k, you sir, have a deal.

milage dont matter much! i have a 91 with 174k on it and it runs like the same day it did off the show room floor. make sure they have all service records and stuff like that so that u no what needs to be done when u get it.

Whats his number? Hes obviously trying to rip you off, and I will tell him so!

Seriously, youre a FOOL for not already GLADLY giving him the 3000 on the spot for that ride. You can get a new ct27 turbo, downpipe/ exhaust mani, intake, exhaust, boost controller, spec clutch, bov, electric water pump, stand alone engine mngmnt, 225/265 tires n wheeles, intercooler, etc, etc... and STILL make a few grand if you wanted to sell it AFTER the fact!!

So, let me restate... PLEASE give me his number! I will GLADLY buy it THIS minute, AND GLADLY pay to have it shipped to CA!
