I have a 91 Explorer XLT. Every time I have turned the ignition key on, the turn signal fuse blows. I have troubleshot a lot of things. I have checked the wiring and bulbs. I have even replaced the signal flasher. It is becoming a very upsetting problem. Can anybody help.

If yours has wiring harness for towing, check the wires in it. My son's 91 had a problem where the fuse would blow as soon as the lights were turned on. In our case, our silly pups had chewed into it as they could easily get to it and there was a dead short. Although not likley the same thing as your situation, there could be a short anyway due to wear from rubbing, dragging etc. or even water. Just a suggestion. You have a dead short for sure which suggests bare wire(s) somewhere..
Could be in the steering column too.

thanks for the advice. I had already checked the towing harness and it seemed to be fine. I have also checked most of the wiring. Most wires seem to be wrapped in electrical tape and plastic tubing. I will check the steering wheel next. I hope that the problem will be in there.

Might want to pull bulbs out of lights then start and see if fuse blows. If it doesn't, start replacing bulbs 1 x 1 to see which blows the fuse. I'd rather check this first before digging into wiring.
