Hi Guys, I just spent the last 3 hours reading all these posts and its very interesting. I'm new to this site so bear with me. I own a 1984 850 T5 which I've had for the last 5 years and I must say, its a very rewarding, comfortable, fast car with very impressive acceleration for a car of this size and weight. I live in Malta, in Europe ( I'm sure most of you don't know were it is) but its a very hot climate, with terrible roads and no highways, but its amazing the speeds we can drive at but for a very short distance (max speed 135mph).
I've had a few problems with the car that proved to be very expensive to fix.( 2 replaced cylinder heads due to overheating). But now I've got some new problems so I've been surfing the net. I seem to have a common problem with some of you regarding the "PNP switch". Could someone tell me what it is,how much does it costs and where is the best place to buy one?
All help is much appreciated.
Cheers!

thanks, but in the meantime I've changed the gearbox, the light is still flashing and I have the same symtoms. I'm now going to change the computer module and see if its that. I've asked my garage to check the pnp switch, but they say its ok. Total cost so far approx usd 1500 and still counting.
