Here's my progress on this kit I wanted to make quickly.

Already did most of the work, the body needs some more clear... the engine details and the interior and chassis some licks here and there but the overall picture is pretty cool.

I managed to make some little adjustements and made some parts better, so I m feeling confident.

here are the pictures.

Feel free to ask and comment, folks.

Nice choice of colour, I think the 612 looks better in the metallic colours. Looking very promising so far. Keep us posted...

Nice quick buildup. Those hood hinges are massive, like a diecast.
Gonna have to get one of those. Ripe for tweaking.

Looks great, you did very well.
Hood "dog leg" hinges are very disappointing! C'mon Revell, even diecasts use normal hinges now...

did you find the plastic used for this kit very greasy/glossy?

i tried to paint the engine block after just sanding and the paint still doesn't like it too much.

Thanks all for your motivating comments.

Now answers.

PC: no, the grill is just dechromed using bleach and will be repainted more according how I think it should be.

DM;
yeah, the plastic of this kit IS pretty greasy, so I put it first in a little bath of soapy water and washed each tree, then applied the neccessary primer.
I think this model would be impossible to build without good primer, atleast my model was.

now, some small progress, I fixed the hood fitting problem I was having, it s alll my fault, cause a piece was't glued properly on.

you might be arguing that there are little flaws on the model, I call it "personality" :)

I ll keep you updated

after daswiesel's update, here's mine, I lowered the suspention about 1 mm in front and rear, and I "note this" painted the rear quarter window according to references.
It's going to have a little black horse at the rear instead of a silver one -courtesy of stijnbamps1 ;-)

and that's about it, folks, yeah, the rear window frame isn't glued on, and needs a little bit more clean llines, that's all.

I didnīt knew, you were waiting for me. ;-) Sorry it took so long.

Yours is really nice, but the rear side window looks a bit strange. :eek7: Did you paint it from the outside?

klutz_100

looks very nice Oli - very clean and smart. I think the light metallic colors suit the body very nicely.

I've got to laugh when I you talk about 1mm precision! When I think that I'm happy if i have 1cm precision LOL

good one dude!

thanks for the nice comments, dudes! yeah, the rear quarter window was done from the outside, that's afterwardsly (sp?) seen a good guess, but I already glued the windows and the body on. Luckily I did this, because the glass part in that area showed some weird marks, which couldn't be sanded out, some plastic melt inside or something...

Also, yeah, not really much to say about this after all, but I did put a little black line around the front lights, very very small, but I believe that is the only way not to make the front lights ruin the whole appearance of the model, making it look toylike without that little line...

As always, it's in the details.

Nice and clean. Love the shine on the silver paint.

A shame about the rear quarter window. I actually don't glue my bodies on my models (unless necessary) just in case I need to take it off for some reason, like this, or to clean out dust. Most car bodies that i've done just kinda snap, screw or stretch on the frame.
