just got her today
shes all stock
what can i do to get this baby to boogie
cant spend much gotta a little boy coming in the next few weeks
low cost upgrade suggestions please

unfortunately there are no real low-cost performance upgrades to our cars. You get what you pay for, and I would say the best uprade for performance would be a motor swap to a 1.8L Turbo called the BPT. Unfortunately this will run you an easy 4 grand so this is probably out of the question.

My personal suggestion would instead of making it fast, make it fun. ;)

- a "cold-air intake" kit off eBay for about 100$ to give you a nice sporty sound that I never get tired of,
- a short shifter with bronze shifter brushings to make for nice, tight, short shifts
- a little bit more pricey, but worth the dough is a suspension upgrade. Common brands are KYB GR-2 struts, and Suspension Techniques springs. I have that setup and it makes for a nice sporty feel, while maintaining a bit of confort.
