Hi guys,
Any one know where or how to install the mute wire from a handsfree cell phone kit to the 04 radio on the malibu? Has anyone removed the radio in this car?
Thanks

It that all you have to do is mute the radio? Is your vehicle an LT model?

Radio removal was covered on a previous thread somewhere in forum. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=2085763#post2085763

Its the LS, I installed a handsfree kit and wanted to know if you can use the mute wire on the kit to connect to the radio to mute when the phone is in use. I did find the previous thread on the radio removal (boy thats sounds like a handfull!) so don't want to remove the radio to find out I can't use the wire mute option. You think the LS with the CD player no onstar would have this option?

The only way I know to mute the radio would be to simulate a radio mute command coming from the radio steering wheel controls (which are only on LT). The radio you have is capable of doing this but it is a little more complicated than just feeding the radio a battery or ground signal like your handsfree kit has available.
