I am looking for a download or a link where I can find solutions to trouble codes for a 92 Taurus. I ran the self test and pulled a few codes. I know the description but i dont know the fix for them. The codes I have are...

157 Mass Air Flow signals/was low or gounded
158 MAF sensor is/was high or short to power
327 EGR feedback signal is/was low

and a bunch of tranny codes...

621, 622, 624, 636, 637, 639, 641, 652

thanks.

it appears from the mass airflow codes that it has failed. the egr code is most likely just a partially clogged egr solenoid/valve. clean it. before u replace the mass air flow sensor clear all the codes, disconnect the mass airflow sensor and pull the ecm fuse for ~10 minutes then start the car. it will run crappy for a few and then it should start running better. this will put the vehicle in open loop (vehicle runs on a digital map instead of looking at the 02 sensor). if it runs better then replace the maf sensor. if it still continues to run crappy then move on to something else.

thanks for the info. as far as the transmission codes, any suggestions as to where to start?

the tranny codes are most likely triggered because of the faulty mass airflow sensor. the mass air flow sensor is a key sesnor in determining trans shift points. the tranny control unit most likely was confused because the engine was not performing normally. just erase the codes, thay should not come back.

i tried running the test you recommended. the car will not start at all with the ecm fuse disconnected. I even tried disconnecting while it was running and it shuts off. Its hard to start as it is, Ive tried with the MAF disconnected and connected, makes no difference. Once its running, if I step on the gas it will sputter. I took it out on the road and it cruises fine at idle, but if i give it gas it will sputter and not move.

i didnt say start the car. remove the fuse for 10 minutes and reinstall fuse. this will clear the ecm of all its set learned perameters . did you check for broken or loose vacuum hoses? did you remove the egr and clean it? do this before replacing the maf or egr.
