RSX Conversion on CRX

I was at work today and i was reading through an article from the last month issue of Import Tuner. I came across an AD featuring an RSX conversion on a CRX. Now from my point of view I realy like the 02-04 RSX front design. Im familiar with body work. So i looked into the only 2 diffrent things shoud i do it myself or should i just order this conversion?

I did a little bit of research......

doing it by buying the conversion will cost...

$1,800 :banghead: (most convesions now adays)

Doing it on my own will cost me :smokin:
(these are price ranges and estimated cost on the parts i will need. Also keep in mind that if i get lucky and find deals on these parts)
Fenders $200 (Stock or aftermarket)
Hood or CF hood $150-$300
Front bumper $200
Headlights $100-$300
Mics stuff tools, materials etc. $200
Total $750 - $1,000

What do you guys think? I would like your input on this if its worth it? or what diection/approach i should take if i decide to go through with this idea......here are some pics too...

:naughty:

It's going to be a hell of a lot of fabrication. I know you said you're familiar with body work, but you've got a lot ahead of you. You're going to have to get the fenders to line up and look right, maybe even weld parts of the CRX and RSX fenders together to match it up. Trying to get the hood to line up correctly, getting the bumper to line up correctly, doing the wiring for the headlights. Personally I'd just buy the conversion instead of trying it myself, but that's just me. Sounds like way too much work to try to get it to look right.

Just to let you know there is a guy on ebay that sells that same front end for $999 plus $200 shipping

you underrated alot of the prices... trying getting the headlights for that price, plus a cf hood... It will not bolt on and i know the fenders will not fit... if you decide to do it, then post pics, and i wish you luck

well i know it will be a long ass project, i dont mind the cost neither because i know it will beworth it. As for the fabrication yea it will take time and dedication.

As for the prices those were avrage prices, I got hook ups who can help me out get this stuff together thats why i dont mind the cost. Im debating wether i should just buy the conversion and bolt it on or go ahead it will be a fun project type. I see what you guys are posting and i do understand. Also has this been done before??? i think it has not sure.....

I don't think it has....it would make for a great showcar though.

I'm sure there's someone out there that has done it, I've never seen it in person or online though. But I've seen some stuff in person that I've never seen online before (like S2000 tail lights on a 5th gen coupe :naughty:), so it's probably been done before. I mean I guarentee there isn't any kind of walkthrough or anything for it.

Look at junkyards, maybe you'll be lucky enough to find an RSX that was heavily hit in the back, and buy that. Then you can also swap the K20 in there, not just the front end.

:nono: The RSX headlights don't have anything to do with the lines of a CRX... :gay:

wow that looks retarded but i think it could be the hood and font bumper that make me puke the most, not to mention the roof scoop

That's the ugliest hood ever. Don't get that one.

LOL!! That's my thought exactly! But back then when this car was being built, conversions were all the rage. The more you had done, the better your car was. I think this particular car had focus headlight prior to this. I think the RSX headlight conversion can be done again and done cleanly. It's just going to be difficult to pull it off since the body lines are completely different.
