removing door panels

got a question about removing the door panels on my 92 hatch. i am having trouble removing the manual window crank. i know there is a pin behind there i need to remove the problem is i cant seem to find the tool to do it with. i have been to 2 auto zones here in killeen and cant find this tool, also i dont know what this tool looks like. if anybody has a pic of the tool i need or has an idea of an easier way of removing this piece help me out, i am way behind on gettin my other mirror on

all you really need is a hooked shaped tool that's also thin enough to slide between the handle and the panel. you could probably use a wire hanger and bend it into a hook shape and use it.

i purchased some type of tool yesterday for 5 dollars from auto zone so hopefully that will do the trick. thanks for your help.

It's actually not a pin. It's a horseshoe clip. You'd be lucky to get a hanger to work. The tool you need is called a window crank removal tool. They have them on tool trucks, but I don't know where a consumer would pick one up. Craftsman might make one but I don't really keep up with their line. The shape of the tool is hard to describe, but it's flat and basically it presses against the open end of the horseshoe. When you do this, make sure your hand is on the opposite side because when they release they usually go flying and disappear. They do sell replacement clips at Auto Zone and such but they don't work very well. It would be a pain to have to go to Honda to buy such a thing. If you have a really thin right angle pick tool you can get it with that if you're skilled enough. If you need a picture of the tool I'm sure I could come up with something.
