Body Of Infant Found In Box At Thrift Store
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Employees at a Huffman thrift store have discovered the body of a baby inside on the boxes left for donation.
The body was found Friday morning (March 25) at the America's Thrift Store in Huffman.
Police say it is still unclear how long the infant had been inside the box, or whether the box was dropped off at the store or picked up as part of a donation. Employees who had made the discovery were sent home for the day.
No other information was immediately available about the baby or its gender.
Authorities said the remains were taken to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office for an examination.

Sorry to post such a sad topic but this story really got to me and I wanted to share it. I can never imagine what would cause anyone to do something of this nature. My wife and I were faced with having our youngest son born two months premature and we had already discussed the possibilities of him being born with any abnormalities that we were going to love him and by God’s guidance we would be seen through any and all difficulties.
Luckily, even though our son did spend a month in the hospital, we never had to face anything so drastic. The only thing that kept him in the hospital so long was his heart rate would drop and each of these episodes meant an automatic five-day longer stay regardless of anything else. It was during one of these heart rate drops that he had to be resuscitated, which for obvious reasons was very frightening for us. It was during this time when one of the Nurses told me of another baby there at the hospital who’s Mother had asked to leave here baby at the hospital for another week so that she could get her house in order, at the time the Nurse was telling me this story six weeks had already passed. Of course the Nurse didn’t go into any more detail but I just couldn’t imagine that situation either.
If I have any further information on this story I’ll be sure to post for those who may be interested.

A word to the Man Upstairs for that little baby. Glad your babe is ok......
People are sick. If you don't want the child, at least drop it off in some ER somewhere. [of course, if you're a crack whore you don't think of that solution]

It may not be politics, but thats why the title of this forrum section also has current affairs in the title.
I hope they find the person who did this, and hold them to the highest punishment available. there are countless people out there in this world who are unable to have children, and would gladly raise that child with the love and devotion as if it was there very own blood.

Here is an update to the sad story I had posted earlier. Very nice of those persons to see that this innocent one was finally taken care of and shown some respect.
Abandoned Baby Laid To Rest In Trussville
Thrift Store Employees Found Infant
April 7, 2005
TRUSSVILLE, Ala. -- A baby who was abandoned at a Huffman thrift store was laid to rest Thursday.
The infant, named Angel Grace by the employees who found her, was buried at the Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville.
Two weeks ago, workers at America's Thrift Stores discovered the dead baby in a box of donations.
Birmingham police believe the baby girl lived 24 to 48 hours before dying. They have traced the box back to St. Clair County, and they would like to talk with the baby’s mother to find out what happened.
Many employees of the thrift store attended the funeral. Jefferson Memorial Gardens also donated a funeral plot and a casket for the baby.
Authorities wish to remind mothers of Alabama’s Safe Haven law, which means that anyone can bring a newborn baby to a medical facility and leave it there without legal repercussions in order to prevent this very situation.
