Passat error code 411

I have a 2000 passat the emission light came on, I took it to checker and borrowed their diagnostic computer. It came up with error 411, secondary air injection. I cleared the code. I see this looks like and issue other have had. Any thoughts on why, and can this be stopped from coming on. Car has 69K on it.

The only things you can do yourself is to check the vacuum & pressure hoses at the pump/motor. There should be a 40A fuse for the motor, I believe it's on an adapter above the main fuse relay panel. There is a black & brown wire going to the motor, you can run 12V+ to the black wire & see if the motor runs & pumps air (brown should be ground).

There should be a vacuum diagram on your hood underside or front engine bay abouve bumper.
