I am finally realizing that im starting to get older. I am just 21 and I never considered myself as old or getting older or anything. Just recently I got a wedding invitation from a friend who is an ex of mine. I thought man thats wierd some girl i used to date is getting married, then I found out ANOTHER ex is getting married and it got me thinking if I had stayed with these girls that could be me! Then I got to thinking about all of my friends and their relationships and realized that 2 of my best friends from my high school years are engaged, several others live with their girlfriends then it hit me, Im at that age where soon half of my friends will be married and starting families and crap....AHHHH! Im sure as hell not ready to get married, thought I was before but I realize now that im not it scares me! I dont know what im going to do when im like "Hey Ronnie wanna go grab a beer?" and Ronnie says "Nah, I gotta take little Jim to soccer practice then go pick up some new drapes" AHHHHHHHHH!!!!

for a long time now, i have been convinced that i will not get married before i turn 28. i have seen a good number of my friends get married and only two have worked out. thats why i figure by the time i am 28 i will be mature enough to make such sacrifices and lifestyle changes, and i should also be financialy stable.

btw, you're 21. you're just barely old enough to drink legaly. i don't think it's old you're feeling, i think old man maturity just decided to give you a wake up slap.

You're not old, you're just not a kid anymore.

Enjoy.

Just because your other friends think they are ready for marriage life doesn't necessarily mean you have to be too. Eveeyone matures on a different level and you just have to enjoy your youth while you have it.

Dude, i know exaclty how you feel. I'll be 21 in about 2 months, and by then i'm going to have a full time job.. a NEW car... i just went to a wedding 2 weeks ago.

Fred got it right, not old, but not a kid anymore. Man i sometimes miss the 14-18 days. Responsibility can really be a drag sometimes, but i'm not gonna fight it.

im 18...but i think i know how you feel, in time. I'll graduate when im 21 so ill be on my own and everything by 21. seems so young to be doin that but, idk. weird enough when i was 17 and in college.

There's a diff between college and high school immaturity and normamlly i should still be in high school, but i gotta take college. it's different, but easily adjustable.

i cant even imagine goin to college that young... i'm not goin to college till this september and i'm 20.

because of several reasons... one being that i felt to young and i wanted to enjoy my teenage years before i moved on

Feeling like you're not ready to get married at 21 is most likely a good thing. You will still get a little bit more mature, and change a little bit. In a few years I think you'll be ready. Enjoy life one day at a time.

It's nuts isn't it. Between this year and next I'm going/in to like 5 or 6 of my friends weddings. And I've already been to two other of my friends that have gotten married.

Well its good to know that at least eventually things should cycle back to the way they were before.

Glad to know I'm not the only one. Going to a good mates wedding next weekend.

And it's looking more and more like I have a long term girlfriend. Clothes at my place and in my car, all that sort of crap.

My playboy days can't be over yet :(

Marriage = no way until I own my own business and make my first million. And I'm not even joking.

Seriously, if you're being a pansy at 21, you're going to be a real sissy for 30. :loser:
