1996 Metro air bag light blinks then stays lit

The air bag light blinks normally upon start up then stays lit. Recently replaced the turn signal switch. Have traced all wiring for air bag. Unplugged wires at every connection. Even disconnected wires from main air bag sensor. All caused light to stay lit, not even blink. Am willing to try anything at this point.
