A weak spark could also be caused by a bad electrical connection from the battery and other connectors. I believe another post on this forum where the guy had a 1994 astro that would not start, and he traced it back to a bad connection from some connector behind the battery right near the fuseable links.

Replacing the rotor, cap, and ign. mod. are good places to start. How about the plug and coil wires? I helped a buddy with an Aerostar that was so messed up, I could have sworn it jumped time. Turned out to be a rotten set of plug and coil wires. My general rule is: if I rpl the cap and rotor, go ahead and rpl the wires, and check the plugs. Also, if you smell sulphur, your catalytic converter could be clogged up. Hope this helps.

ok, of the electrical, depending the number of goodies you have on your cigarette lighter port ;) a short can develope between the "fusable Links" (which could also be a problem (they look like in-line black capsules behind the battery, there are 4 of them) the connector coule get toasted going into the positive distribution (again, behind battery on the firewall) the line that's 2nd from the left I think is the one that control spark & the fuel pump, if that's fried up, that would definately do you in... it'll act like its not getting any spark or bad fuel pump, so make certain the dome lights work, if they're out, that line could be fried.

I have a 94 astro 4.3 that had the same problem. Changing the coil might also be a good idea.
