Vintage Corolla Fans?? 70-74

Hey all. I'm interested in custom building vintage Corolla's of the first generation. I have in mind a cool gas saver and would like to know if it's possible to mate an 18R with a 5 speed tranny from an 85 celica gts. Or, for that matter, how about a 2tg or a 3tg with a 5 speed?
