Motor Woes

One of the wrist pins went in my GTA and I need some help on what to do next. I believe serious damage has been done to the inside of the cylinder because when I did plugs recently, the #7 was all gunked up. I was told the cylinder can be bored out and a splint can be put in. How safe is this? I like this option because it preserves the block so I can leave the original in, but I am concerned about the safety. The other option I have is to put a new motor in it. If this is the case, how much power can I safely put in the car? It has T-tops and I worry about twisting the frame. Thanks for any advice you have.

you need to have the old block taken apart to find out the extend of the damage, and if it is repairable, as far as stepping up in power is concerned, subframe connectors will help...
