Yet even MORE car problems (wanna buy a vr4?)

Ok let me rehash everything quickly for all of you.

Mid december, my stock clutch was starting to slip, so I decided to purchase a RPS 6 puck clutch. $600+
Labor $500+

2 days later, transmission/xfer case busted
new rebuild tranny/xfer case $2750
labor $400+

Get car back, cv joint going out
parts/labor $200 something

Get car back, cv joint breaks 10 minutes later
parts/labor $0. made shop pay it since it was their fault

Get car back, 4 days later my clutch goes out. Towed to shop, clutch pulled out. Clutch is in a million pieces. Completely trashed. Called RPS, through 2 weeks of bullshit they sent me a streetmax clutch since my 6 puck was under warranty. (another $500+ in labor to put my clutch back in)

Get car back (after 4 weeks of not having my car). 1 day later taken to another shop to get oil leak fixed (front valve cover) and discovered gear oil leaking everywhere.

Taken back to tranny shop that put my streetmax clutch in, and found out my freaking bellhousing has a crack in it where the clutch sits, and it's determined that when the clutch busted into all those pieces, something hit my bellhousing and cracked it.

Called RPS, they won't do crap to help me. So now I have to order a new bellhousing from mitsubishi $447 + another $400 labor.

So all in all, I've spent close to 6 large on my car in 3 months.

On top of that, my water pump is going out (probably will just do my 120k service soon), my master brake cylinder is seeping fluid, my front right tire is going bald on the outside of the tire (need a front end alignment), and i need to get an oil leak fixed.

I swear to God if anything goes wrong after I get all that fixed I'm going to pull my hair out.

the recall is on the xcase, andthe only way the tranny will be covered is if the xcase distroys it. If the bellhousing is distroyed by other means then too bad.

man i am having the same fuckin problem with my car, i get something then something breaks, i fix whats broken then something else happens. I love my car but my car is the biggest pain in the ass in my life!!!! I am really looking into selling my car and getting a brand new car so i dont have to deal with the headacke, i got enough crap to worry about and i want my car to be last thing to worry about. But dont get me wrong i dont have any problems like you have my stuff is minor but u r stuff is 100 times worst than mine!!! and i really feel bad when ever u post something like this because i can really feel the pain and it just feels like crap.

the gay thing is that when i think what i want to go buy, nothing is as good as my vr4 and it cant beat it but when i think about all the headackes and over pices insurance and all the high cost on labor and nobody has used parts or any new parts beside that damn dealer that would charge 20X more just because they are the dealer and they know we dont have any other choice.

Ive already spent over 5K in repairs too since December and its still giving me shit. I tryed fixing most of the problems myself but somethings are too great for me. these cars are not for the avarage joe who just sits there, pumps gas and goes. these cars are for the enthusiest who is willing to stay ontop of the maintenance and knows the insides and outs. unfortunetly repairs are way expensive and it gets to the point you gotta decide. car or home and family. I can barely pay for the repairs anymore so I feel ya. hope it gets better soon bro.

I am totally with you here man. I feel your pain, although not quite so severe. It would take me upwards of 5k to get the car into the shape it should be in right now, but I'm just going to sell it as is and take a 5k loss after my loan is paid off. I told my mom the other day if a car could burn in hell, it would be mine. Don't get me wrong, VR4's are quite the car, but hey, it's just not worth it to me. Maybe if I had a lot of money, but not right now.

I'm really sorry to hear about u guys and your cars giving you soo much crap, if it makes u guys feel ne better my mom just recently flat out sold my 3000GT to my cousin, so IMO having a 3000GT is better than watching my cousin strut around in mine.

welcome to the wonderful world of 3/S's. Thats one reason i do all the work myself, cause i generally dont trust shops. I'm fortunate that only maintenance i've had on mine in the past 4 years was the 60K tune up, a battery, a couple of spark plugs, and an end clutch. Treat your car well, and it will treat you well.
