im putting in a mono amp atleast 400 watts...and 2 bridged 12" subs.
i was wondering what has to be done to keep the load off my battery and altinator........
iv heard stories of battery's not getting the right charge due to the amp consuming power faster than the altinator can charge the battery.
will a capacitor....help this....? anythin else?

400 a small cap should do you just fine, the things your thinking of are for 1000w and larger, but for a 400 i would reccoment a .5 cap, a good ground, and when the alt goes bad, get a h/o one, not a oem replacement, to keep the load totally off the amp and batter, you need a new electrical system

sorry, shouldnt of said new like i did, to keep the load off the current electrical system, you would need a second system, ie a deep cycle batter (optima yellow top) and recharge as neccesary, or ty it into the alt now and use the 150 doller battery as your cap, the only way to keep the load of an amp off the electrical system is to keep it off the electrical system, the best you can do is reduce it, like useing a capacitor and high output alternater
