Winch for 94 Yukon

I've always wanted a winch, but the more I read, the more questions pop up! Winch will be used for hunting/camping trips in the Nevada mountains/desert. 8000 lb? 9000 lb? Planetary or worm gear? Mounting system? Electric or hydraulic? Need dual battery system for electric winch? Will winch and mounting system require any modification/upgrade to suspension system?

Am leaning toward a Warn winch and Transformer mount, but am not locked into that yet. Perhaps the Warn hidden/semi hidden mount?

Although total costs IS a consideration, I do NOT want to spend too little; one wants quality and capability and I believe in the buy once, cry once theory!

Also, the Amsteel Blue synthetic winch rope APPEARS to be a great way to go, instead of the steel cable. But someone suggested it must be replaced approx annually. Comments?

I'm really kind of lost on this project. Comments/advice appreciated!
