HELP: What should i do

My 99 eclipse gs just got a knocking noise in the engine, i replaced all the belts, water pump, oil pump, brand new complete head(cams,lifters,valves,rockers, whatever else comes in the head) and i still have this knocking noise. I think its a rod knocking or something. Should i sell it as it is and buy a new car or get it fix.

if you like your car, get it fixed. have the bottom end re-built. pistons, bearings, gaskets, oil pump, water pump, etc.

if you want a faster car, sell it and buy a turbo while you can.

Find out where the noise is coming from on the engine. If it only started when you put a new head on, it could be the lash adjusters clattering until they fill with oil. It's a pretty damn loud noise but it goes away after a little while. If it's coming from the bottom of the car it could be a spun bearing or rod knock.

i think he got a new head and thought it would eliminate the problem. pull off the oil pan and the rod caps and check the rod bearings.

Yeah i had the knocking noise before i put the new head on. It sounds like the noise is coming from the top right of the valve cover put when you rev it the noise gets a little louder and sounds like it switches and the sound comes from the middle of the engine. When i dropped the oil pan to put the new oil pump in...i found 2 shiny tiny metal chips stuck to the magnet in my oil pan. It was the size of a pen tip but flat. I know that aint good.

If i do sell it how much yall think i should sale it for. I have black widow front and a drift front bumper in the garage, turbo spoiler, oz racing rims, carbon fiber hood, Tenzo-r lowering springs,greddy headers, obx catback, 3 MTX 10's with 500 watt amp, altezza tails with new belts including timing, new oil pump-water pump-and ported head with new internals in the head?

why not just fix it and keep the car? unless you plan on going turbo, i would keep it since you won't get your moneys worth of the mods and if you're going to buy another one, you'll just be spending that again anyways.
