hi guys. just wondering what it takes to install the factory 6CD changer unit on the factory stock stereo. what's the lowest price you guys heard so far and how hard is it to install it?

where does it go on the car?

thanks. :D

infinitihelp.com wants $250 for the changer, and it looks like that includes shipping and handling, and an installation kit.
Their description says mounted under passenger seat...hmm I would have guessed it went in the trunk.
My favorite thing about infinitihelp.com is the part #s....
for the changer they show B8183-C9961.

As far as how tough it is, I don't know, but I bet someone does.

I've been thinking about adding this to my car too, but I want a changer that can decode mp3s....imagine, with 6 cds of mp3s, I could almost drive across the country and never hear the same thing.

thanks, bud. yah, that would be cool to have a mp3 decoder. kinda like having your personal satellite radio. :D

hummm... I wonder if I need to get to the magazines from the rear seats or if I can reach from the front. hate having to have to get out of the car after buying CD's just to load em up...ya know...

i was thinking the same, but I hope it is not too easy to get kicked by person in the rear seat.

I ordered my changer from Infiniti of Scottsdale. For around I think $350 plus shipping. It came with the Changer, the install kit, wiring, and the cover for the changer. The guy I spoke to TJ said that depending on what year g20 you have, it either goes in the trunk or under the seat. I have a 99 P11 so mine is in the trunk. As far as the install, it was pretty easy. There is some drilling involved and you have to cut the trunk carpet a bit. It took me about 2 hours do everything.

infinage- sounds good. yah, if it's in the trunk, nothing to worry about, but if it's going under the seat, I would worry about road salt getting on it especially for us chicagoans. :) mine's a 2001, wonder where it goes....humm...
