god, it's been forever...

my engine is blown.
again.

from a highway race.
my fault, oh well...

long story short, some goofball in an orange accord is flying onto the freeway...
i catch, pass, then slow down.
twice.
he's crazy.

so i pass him again.
130ish.
then i see the oil pressure gauge drop. clutch in.
car dies.

roll to the side of the road. restart, rod knock. damn.

i knew i needed to add oil, apparently more than i thought...
my fault completely.
but the engine had 100k miles on it, driven the way i do.
F'ing good for this car...

and i just got it painted last summer!

so...
back in the shop...
new 58mm tb (stock is 54)
new 8lb. fidanza flywheel (stock is 22)
new act clutch
possibly new cams
new whatever's broken...

and a new set of rims...

5zigen just introduced the fno1rc in a black wheel with silver lip.
17x7's with avs es100's...

oh well...
in a couple weeks, she's gonna be sick

You should stick with the heavier flywheel....light flywheels belong in light cars.

Not really feelin the conversion but it's your car, I thought it looked fine with stock tails.

well...
the tails were free, the conversion was free, and it's uber unique...
had to do something fun with it... why not...

light cars and light flywheels.
my car is maybe 2700lbs as it sits stripped.

not heavy at all (not a hb lightweight, but light)

and it's got tq... something civics generally don't... i'm not worried...

the accord only beat me if you count him coming back from 7 car lengths and passing me after i put the clutch in and coasted to the side of the road.

i caught him (i came up behind him when he got on the free way) and passed him. then let off.
he flew by me.
i caught him (he was going 80ish) and passed him at 110 and never looked back.

i don't think he won at all... ;)

Well I'm glad you're back, but sorry to hear about the engine...at least you have a good attitude about it...I look forward to seeing some good 'forced modifications'

Nice conversion. I don't like Dave G though :biggrin:. How much did the conversion cost you, and will it affect safety laws because you don't have seperate colored signals for reverse and signalling? Here in Utah, I had red turn signals once, and the cops freaked out about it, same with the white ones. So I'm back to yellow...meh it's the law. L8...

there were quite a few local haters b/c i was putting non-honda lights in my car...

and the pic sure as F belongs on my page... ;)

the turn signals are in the tails, they're red, which isn't a major issue.

alot of cars, old and new, used red turn signals, and legally, they have to be either yellow (amber) or red.

my "reverse" lights are the two lights next to the license plate, more for show, just so i have em back there...

all told, including the price of the new rear 1/4's (which i got at honda price, not customer price) i paid just about 2200 for the whole paint job, work to put the new rears on, new tails, etc..

he's a good friend, and it was a major hook up, and it's to promote his work... not bad for me... ;)

I actually like your conversion, looks unique. Although your car would look better in black. As a matter of fact, your car would look great in my garage...

it should be plenty fast.
