learning cars

I am new to anything technical related to cars and I want to learn more about how they work/the parts involved kinda stuff. People say to read the stuff here on the forums, but that is only like a fact here, a fact there for this car and for that car, most of which doesnt even make sense to me. I need to learn from the basics from a place that stays on 1 track(i.e. teaches you 1 thing about cars and uses that knowledge to further teach about other parts until the entire car is covered) more for cars in general (or 2001 honda accord if specific is a must). Are there any websites or a place like that to learn? i would rather not buy a book or something, but i could live with it if it is really the only way and it is a good book.

go check out tons of books about tuning cars and buy car manuals and stuff. When i first started learning i went to a used book store and bought like 7 books about tons of different things and just spent hours reading and learning stuff. good luck with it..

Buy a engine rebuild manual at any parts store. They will have a lot of photos and pics. This will get you a lot of info on the mechanical stuff. Then you can follow with manuals on trannys, brakes, fuel injection, electronic ignition, etc... Good Luck and welcome to the forum. If you have any questions and cannot seem to find the answer in these books just ask. Someones always here.

I am also new to automotive rebuilding and have learned alot from everyone here. These guys are great and will help you in anyway. Read your AF everyday.
