Front end vibration

My '94 Cavalier is having some vibration issues. When driving straight or turning left, there is a harsh vibration coming from the front end (I'm not sure which side). When I turn even slightly to the right, the vibration goes away. The frequency of the vibration is speed dependent. However, I don't think it has anything to do with the tires because it seems like the frequency is greater than that of the of the turning wheels. I'm thinking it may be a wheel bearing or CV joint. Any ideas before I try to tackle it this weekend?

yeah, sounds like a bearing or cv joint to me too. but most mechanics will check it out for free, especially if you've taken your car to them before. so try that first

mAxxx, you are correct! It was a bad right front wheel bearing. Thanks for your input!
