that's one of the greatest kits from tamiya. lucky that you got some while you can. tamiya is discontinuing so much from their line-up, it's not even funny. just look at this... http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/category.php?sub-id=8000

There must be a reason for Tamiya reducing their line up so much..!! Looking at the list, and I've looked at this list before and it's not funny, but I wonder why?

Are model kits no longer selling very well? Too much computers, DVD's etc killing the market off? I don't know, but would be nice if anyone has some sort of idea.. It's a shame really..!!

Wow!! What a massacre. Maybe they will sell off all their moulds to some crappy company and get some new kits on the shelves. Some of those are quite strange though with the ferraris especially. I wonder if It was part of the licence agreement with Ferrari just to sell a certain number of them. The mind boggles at some of the discontinuations.

Tamiyas focus is more into RC nowadays...

It is also evident in the quality of their recent kits....

they will never be as good as those released in the 90's with full engine detail....

Luckily I managed to stow away a good collection of those kits....

but the consolation is that Tamiya reissue their kits quite often...unlike Hasegawa...

Well by looking at the list, all I see is Tamiya is dumping the "full view" versions of some kits and they have discontinued some of the old stuff. They dropped the Enzo first version but still have the Rossa Corsa version, so it looks to me like anything that has more than one version they are still keeping one of the, in production at all times. And like NOB says Tamiya are always re-releasing.

I've seen this one pop a few times, usually just after placing an order.
Yeah, Phil just how many are there? I saw that studio 27 has loads of alternative decals. Does anyone do any detail sets though?

They pick random stuff to re-pop every once in a while...

Never seen a detail set as such, but Renaissance, S27 and Reji all have transkits for conversion to WRC spec. Tamiya made three versions, the original 1993/94 Mobil livery (as in my sig), 1996 Repsol (as you ordered) and a yellow/blue Michelin BRC car.
