Problems with Transponder Key for 2004 Sequoia

I just bought a transponder key from ebay. It was advertised as working for 2002-2004 Sequoia. I emailed and asked to make sure if it would definately work with a 2004 as those keys I have read are different. He say they will definately work.
I bought the key, had it cut and it opens the doors and turns the ignition just fine but I cannot seem to get it programmed. I have tried several proceedures I have found below an none are working.
When I cycle my ignition 5 times, open and shut my door 6 times and put in the new key, the anti-theft light does not blink. It stays off.
Just for giggles I cycled my ignition 6 times and open and shut my door 6 times and when I put in the new key the anti-theft does blink. So I'm guessing the 5 cycles and 6 door routine is putting the truck in some sort of programming mode but regardless if I turn the key on, leave off the anti-theft does not blink nor does the key program.
Any ideas or do you think I got ripped off with a key for an older Squioa?
Thanks
B
Which of the three proceedures below is correct for the 2004?
1.Make sure all doors and windows are closed.
2.Insert master key into the ignition cylinder.
3.Cycle the ignition cylinder from ON to OFF 5 times.
4.Open and close the driver side door 6 times.
5.Remove the master key and insert the new duplicate key.
6.DO NOT TURN THE IGNITION CYLINDER ON
7.The new key will be registered after 60 seconds. The THEFT light on the
dashboard will go out, indicating that programming has been completed.
"some 2002 will work using the 1998+ programming."
1) Close all doors
2) Insert your MASTER key (BLACK) into the key cylinder
3) Turn the ignition switch from LOCK to ON 5 times within 15 seconds (key end at ON)
4) OPEN then CLOSE the driver's door 6 times within 20 seconds
5) Remove the MASTER key from the ignition switch, insert the blank key in the key cylinder then turn to ON position
6) While the blank key in the ON position, wait 60 seconds or more to allow the blank key register the key code
7) after 60 seconds, remove the key. Open then Close the driver's door to end the process.
3rd set is the same as the last one but you don't leave key on after the 5 ignition cycles.

No! You got a rip off from the eBay seller. The transponder key for 2001 and 2002 are different chip from 2003 and 2004. I believed you purchased from ebay around $17 a piece. This is for 2001 and 2002 ONLY.
The price for the 2003 and 2004 blank key are about $34 each. You can purchase directly from Toyota dealer on internet at toyotaparts4u.com
